The end of a year is a time for reflection on the 12 months that have passed and also an opportunity to celebrate the year’s achievements and to look forward to the year to come. At Mentimeter we were able to cap off the year in style amid a flurry of awards recognising our sustained growth and continuous good work in 2021.
2021 was another big year for us here at Mentimeter. We have consistently improved our product and welcomed a ton of new colleagues into the Menti family, growing the whole organization while maintaining our amazing culture and values.
That hard work has come with its fair share of recognition and we wanted to put together a round-up highlighting some of the awards we have won in 2021. So here is a list of the prizes we are most proud of.
At the end of the year we were delighted to be included in the Deloitte FAST 50 for the 4th year in a row. Rising from 36th to 31st position in the top 50 after recording annual growth of 664%.
This is especially exciting for us because to improve on our position in the FAST 50 standings from a previous year is hard. Such fast growth when we have already grown so much is unusual and something we are very proud of.
In May we were named in Gartner’s Cool Vendor Report for Digital Workplace Strategy and Applications in 2021. The report highlighted the challenges of remote and hybrid work in the wake of a global pandemic, singling out Mentimeter as a ready-made engagement tool for facilitating interaction in virtual meetings.
Gartner wrote in the report that “while every meeting solution provider offers some capabilities for polling, surveying or generating meeting analytics, what makes Mentimeter cool is their focus on interactive elements that turn a one-sided presentation into a conversation with the audience. Rather than sharing a PowerPoint or Google Slide deck, presentations are built directly in Mentimeter. Questions or other interactive elements can be added between slides allowing audience members to connect and interact with the presentation. Results to individual questions can be displayed or generated into graphics and interactive elements can be reused in future sessions.”
We were pleased to end the year on a high by being named a Gasell company again in 2021, after winning the award previously in 2018, 2019, and 2020. As an award that rewards fast growing, profitable, healthy companies - this one means a lot.
In October we were honored to be named as Breakit’s SaaS Company of the Year in 2021. Our VP People - Anna Gullstrand - said at the time: “Mentimeter is the SaaS Company of the Year in Sweden! It takes great people to build an outstanding product, business, and culture. We are all so proud and excited about what we will create together in the future.”
"We agree with the jury. Mentimeter is Sweden's best SaaS company! We are driving a global change in business and education to become more inclusive, engaging and fun." - VP People, Anna Gullstrand
We are very proud of our enterprise offering, so we were very pleased to have our hard work recognized by the CLOUD & SaaS Awards as their winner for Best Enterprise-Level Product (Non-USA). Richard Geary - Lead SaaS Awards Judge - wrote that “having sat through many dry PowerPoint presentations in the past, we were hugely impressed with the potential transformative effect Mentimeter will have on driving employee engagement in large organizations.”
Finally, a personal success, our CEO and Co-Founder Johnny Warström was recognized as CEO of the Year by Motivation.se! In typically humble style, Johnny refused to see it as a reward for his own personal achievements, but instead wrote: “Wow, what an honor "CEO of the Year", or should we say "Company of the Year". It's a bit weird and very humbling to get a prize for representing the amazing work that every Mentimeter colleague does.”
In their reasoning for the award, Motivation wrote that they were recognizing Johnny’s "big focus on making a positive impact on every individual and society as a whole".
“If I need to summarise what I'm most proud of, it is that we've built one of the fastest growing startups in Europe, that brings so much joy to our users, and we've built the organisation in a value driven way.” - Mentimeter CEO, Johnny Warström
