Our story


  • Mentimeter’s four founders - Johnny Warström, Niklas Ingvar, Henrik Fräsén, and Kristoffer Renholm - wanted to build a product they themselves could benefit from; one that was simple-to-use, practical, and above all engaging.


  • Even in its infancy Mentimeter’s proved to be a successful service both inside and outside of Sweden. The founders quickly learned that people around the world were ready and willing to pay for the growing product.
  • In 2014, Mentimeter raised external capital and graduated from being a side project to a full-time venture. Four full-time employees were thus added to the company


  • In the autumn of 2015, Mentimeter established its core values and ways of working to help shape the company for years to come. Mentimeter’s culture as a value-driven company stems from these core values. 


  • In 2016, Mentimeter observed that groups within companies were using the product and that it was becoming a key tool for many organizations. Mentimeter, therefore, developed both a sales process and targeted features for these organizations, which signaled the start of the Enterprise offering. 


  • Mentimeter evolved to become a full presentation platform while also investing time and resources into upgrading and modernizing the product’s creative experience.
  • In 2018, Mentimeter reached the milestone of 1 million registered users.


  • In 2019, more than 60 million total users used Mentimeter’s platform. Mentimeter also had a total of 41,000 paying Self-Service customers.
  • By the end of 2019, Mentimeter had grown to a team of 60 full-time employees. 


  • The onset of the pandemic meant that the need for engagement in remote meetings and presentations greatly increased. Designed for such occasions, Mentimeter experienced increased growth all over the world and became more widely used than before.


  • In the fall of 2021, Mentimeter opened a new sales office in Toronto, Canada.
  • By the end of 2021, more than 270 million voters and 14 million presenters all over the world had used Mentimeter, while the team had grown to 192 full-time employees.


  • In June, Mentimeter received an additional investment of approximately SEK 432 million to further fuel growth.
  • At the end of the year, Mentimeter reached more than 300 employees across the two offices.
