What is an Employee Net Promoter Score?

Employee Net Promoter Score (eNPS) is a concept based on Net Promoter Score (NPS) to measure employee loyalty. It is a great way to find out how likely your employees are to recommend you on a scale from 0-10, 10 being very likely and 0 being not very likely at all. This template will help to give you a valuable insight into how willing your employees are to give praise or advocate for your company.

How to calculate eNPS

By using the question, ‘how likely is it that you would recommend our company as an employer to a friend or business contact?’ you can use it to divide employees into three different segments, promoters, passives and detractors. Promoters (9-10) are the most loyal and positive about the company. Passives (6-8) are respondents who are somewhere in between and detractors (0-5) are those who are not very likely to recommend the company.

After you have presented, you can collect the results and calculate employee Net Promoter Score (eNPS). Subtract the detractors (anyone that voted from 0-5) from the promoters (anyone that voted from 9-10). Then divide by the total number of participants and multiply by 100.

Why should you do an eNPS survey?

Getting negative feedback can be an eye opener and a catalyst for change in the organization. It is important to get to the bottom of any low scores and understand why participants voted that way. The organization can then evaluate and improve the business. Positive results on the other hand, can make the company proud that there is a strong culture where employees would advocate for the company.

How to use the eNPS survey template

Using the Mentimeter template is an easy way to implement eNPS and get instant results with minimum admin. The ability to allow employees to answer anonymously means you are more likely to get honest and truthful responses. To take advantage of this tool, your organization should try and incorporate it regularly into team activities or meetings to optimize the results and see if the changes you made worked. The template can be an awesome way to start and open up a discussion about culture in the organization.
